The last time My Chemical Romance played in Kuala Lumpur, it was December 2007, and more than 10,000 fans sang along in the rain at Stadium Merdeka. Nearly 19 years later, the band is returning, this time for two nights at Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

MCR, as they are affectionately known by fans, will perform on 19 and 20 November 2026, rescheduled from an earlier postponement from 30 April and 1 May 2026. It has been a long wait and an eventful journey, but one of the most anticipated rock concerts in Malaysia is finally happening. Whether you’ve held on to your ticket since the original announcement or have just managed to get one, here’s what to know about the songs, seating, getting to the stadium and making the most of the night.

Why MCR’s return to Malaysia matters

For fans who grew up listening to Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade, My Chemical Romance was more than just another band on their playlist. Songs like Welcome to the Black Parade and I’m Not Okay (I Promise) were there through the awkward teenage years, heartbreaks and moments when it felt like nobody quite understood what you were going through.

When MCR announced their breakup in 2013, the prospect of seeing Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Ray Toro and Frank Iero perform together again seemed unlikely. Six years later, the band’s reunion reignited hopes among fans worldwide and turned what once felt impossible into reality.

Now Malaysian fans are finally getting the chance to sing along to the songs that meant so much to them growing up.

MCR Malaysia 2026 ticket prices and availability

The original sale drew strong demand, and another ticket release took place on 22 October 2026, including a new upper-tier seating section called Zone F. Here are the announced ticket categories and prices.

    Category Announced price
Zone F, newly added upper-tier seating RM 185
    Zone E RM299
    Zone D RM399
    Zone C RM499
    Zone B RM599
    I’m Not Okay, standing RM599
    Zone A RM699
    I Don’t Love You, early-entry standing RM799
    Helena, seated package RM1,099

Prices are before any applicable ticketing or payment charges. The Helena package includes a dedicated entrance and selected commemorative merchandise, according to GoLive Asia. The early-entry standing category offers different access arrangements from standard standing tickets, so check the package terms before buying.

Are there still MCR tickets available?

The promoter’s website currently labels both dates sold out, even though the additional Zone F allocation was released in October. Availability can change, so use the official MCR ticketing page on GoLive Asia to check live inventory. Avoid paying a stranger on social media for an unverifiable ticket, particularly when the event has already had several sales phases.

How to get to Bukit Jalil National Stadium

Getting to Bukit Jalil is fairly straightforward. Getting home alongside thousands of other concertgoers is the part that deserves a little planning. Decide how you’re leaving before you arrive, especially if you’re attending the Friday show after work.

Take the LRT to Bukit Jalil

Bukit Jalil station on the Sri Petaling LRT Line is the most convenient public transport stop for the stadium. It is close to the sports complex, so you can walk to the event entrance rather than arranging another car ride.

If you’re coming from KL Sentral, one option is to take the Kelana Jaya Line to Masjid Jamek and change to a Sri Petaling Line train towards Putra Heights.

After the concert, expect queues at the station. Stadium Malaysia notes that operating hours may be extended for major events, but don’t assume the last train will run later unless Rapid KL confirms it for these particular shows. Leave enough time to get back to the station and make any required connection.

    Driving, parking and e-hailing

Driving may be more comfortable if you’re coming with family or friends, but the roads around Bukit Jalil can become busy before and after stadium events. If you’re driving, find out which event-day car parks are open and whether parking must be paid for in a particular way. Take a photo of your parking zone before heading towards the gates.

E-hailing is another option, although pickup points can be crowded after a large show. Agree on a meeting point with your friends and check the driver’s actual pickup location. Walking to a safe, designated pickup point away from the busiest exit may be easier than trying to meet a car immediately outside the venue.

If you’re travelling from Penang, Johor Bahru or elsewhere, consider whether staying overnight in KL would make the evening more enjoyable than rushing for the last bus or a late-night drive home.

What songs might MCR perform in Kuala Lumpur?

No final Kuala Lumpur setlist has been confirmed. Still, there’s plenty for fans to revisit before November, especially the band’s best-known albums and the songs that became staples of its live shows.

From Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, Helena and I’m Not Okay (I Promise) remain obvious fan favourites. The Black Parade brought Welcome to the Black Parade, Famous Last Words, Teenagers, I Don’t Love You and Mama, while Na Na Na and The Kids from Yesterday came from the later Danger Days era.

Treat these as listening suggestions, not a confirmed MCR Malaysia 2026 setlist. The band can change its song choices and running order between shows. If you enjoy surprises, you might prefer going in without checking recordings from earlier tour stops.

The difference between a standing ticket and an upper-tier seat matters here too. Standing puts you closer to the floor atmosphere but involves more time on your feet. An upper-tier seat gives you a fixed place and a wider view of the stage, although performers will look smaller from that distance. Choose what suits your comfort, not just the ticket category’s name.

What to prepare before concert night

A little preparation helps you spend more of the evening enjoying the music and less of it searching for your friends or worrying about your ticket.

Arrive with enough time for the queues

With a listed showtime around 8pm to 8.30pm, aiming to reach the stadium area by around 6pm is a reasonable planning choice, not an official door-opening time. Allow extra time if you need to collect merchandise, look for your entrance or meet people from different parts of the city.

Check which gate and ticket zone you’ve been assigned.

Check the entry rules before packing

Keep your official ticket accessible in the format required by GoLive Asia, with your phone charged and your booking information easy to find. Check the organiser’s event-day guidance for identity checks, age restrictions, prohibited items, bag sizes and whether an individual ticket can be transferred.

Don’t assume that another concert at the same stadium has identical rules. If you’re taking children or teenagers, confirm the MCR-specific admission conditions with the ticketing platform before making plans.

Eat before joining the stadium crowd

It’s easier to enjoy the first few songs when you aren’t thinking about dinner. Pavilion Bukit Jalil has restaurants and cafés if you’re spending the afternoon in the area, although you’ll still need to arrange transport from the mall to the stadium. Bandar Tun Razak and the wider Bukit Jalil neighbourhood also have casual dining options.

After the show, some nearby restaurants may be busy, so have a backup supper spot.

Using TNG eWallet around the MCR concert

You probably don’t need another payment app just for one concert. What matters is having enough balance and a payment method that works for the places you actually plan to visit.

For a meal before the show or supper afterwards, you can use TNG eWallet Scan & Pay at participating shops displaying an accepted TNG eWallet QR code. Check the QR payment option at the counter before ordering rather than assuming every stall or stadium vendor accepts it.

If you already carry the TNG eWallet Visa Travel Card, it can also be used at eligible businesses that accept Visa, including locally. Its travel-related benefits are primarily designed for overseas spending, so there’s no need to apply for one just to attend a KL concert.

And if you’re making a wider MCR trip that includes the band’s Singapore shows on 10 and 11 November, Travel eSIM, offered by TNG eWallet, may help you arrange mobile data for that overseas leg. It is not necessary for a local Malaysian concert if your existing mobile plan already works in Kuala Lumpur. You can check Travel eSIM options and TNG eWallet Visa card details if that cross-border plan applies to you.

A final check before the Black Parade arrives

For many Malaysian fans, seeing MCR back in KL after nearly 19 years is reason enough to get excited. You don’t need to plan every minute, but do sort out the things that can spoil the evening. Make sure your ticket matches 19 or 20 November, confirm the latest showtime, choose your route to Bukit Jalil and know how you’re getting home.

Then leave room for the part you’ve actually been waiting for. Put on your favourite MCR album on the way there, meet your friends and enjoy hearing those songs with a stadium full of people who know them too. For food and other purchases around the venue, have TNG eWallet Scan & Pay ready wherever participating merchants accept it.
