MotoGP Malaysia 2026 runs from 30 October to 1 November at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, bringing a weekend of motorcycle racing to Selangor. The main Grand Prix is on Sunday, while Friday offers free entry to all seat zones, giving newcomers a chance to experience the circuit before the ticketed weekend.

There is more to choosing your day than picking a ticket price. Watching riders negotiate Turns 7 and 8 is a different experience from following the start and pit activity from the Main Grandstand. This guide explains the viewing options, race programme, transport and places to stay, with a sample budget to help you put the trip together.

The Sepang experience and which day to attend

Sepang’s 5.54km circuit has 15 corners and a longest straight of 920m. Its combination of long straights and slower corners gives spectators different ways to follow the race, depending on where they sit.

For a first visit, think about what you want to see. A start-line view puts the grid and pit activity at the centre of your day. A corner-focused seat lets you follow how riders approach, turn and accelerate through one section, lap after lap.

    Malaysian MotoGP 2026 schedule

The published MotoGP session times below are reported by specialist motorsport publisher Crash.net on 26 October. All times are Malaysian time. They remain subject to programme changes.

    Day  Selected MotoGP sessions
Friday, 30 October  Free practice at 10:45AM; Practice at 3PM
Saturday, 31 October  Free practice at 10:10AM; qualifying from 10:50AM; Sprint at 3PM
Sunday, 1 November  Warm-up at 10:40AM; Grand Prix at 3PM

Qualifying determines starting positions, while the Sprint is a shorter race held on Saturday. Sunday is the option for visitors whose priority is the main Grand Prix. Saturday gives you both qualifying and racing in one visit.

Friday’s free seat-zone access makes it an option for someone trying live MotoGP for the first time. That offer describes spectator seating access; separate activities and restricted areas have their own conditions.

How much are MotoGP Malaysia 2026 tickets?

Selected Sepang MotoGP ticket prices displayed on the organiser’s event page are listed below. These are published prices, rather than a guarantee of remaining stock or the final checkout total.

    Ticket category  Displayed price
K2 Hillstand, for MyKad holders only  RM49.90
    F Grandstand  RM143.75
    K1 Grandstand  RM206.25
    Main Grandstand  RM345
    Premier Roving  RM510

Sepang’s 2026 FAQ says standard event tickets cover all three days and that it does not offer one-day entry tickets. Attending only Sunday therefore does not necessarily mean paying a lower admission price.

    Choose the view you want

    Hillstand view in sepang

The Main Grandstand overlooks the start/finish straight and pit areas. Sepang also lists toilets, a prayer room, food kiosks and merchandise facilities there, making it worth comparing if your group wants those facilities alongside the racing.

F Grandstand focuses on Turns 7 and 8. Sepang identifies Gate F as its entrance and lists a screen, toilets, a prayer room and a food kiosk. That makes it a specific alternative for readers interested in cornering action at a lower displayed price than the Main Grandstand.

Main Grandstand general admission has no reserved seat; seating is first come, first served. Premier Roving permits movement between the Main Grandstand, K1, F and K2 viewing areas.

For a mixed group, the useful comparison is the view, permitted access and facilities. Anyone needing step-free access can confirm the route to their specific seating zone with Sepang before committing to a ticket.

    Use the organiser’s ticket channels

Sepang publishes an authorised ticketing agent list, alongside its direct booking links. Matching a seller against that list gives you a clearer basis for purchasing than relying on a social media account’s description.

Getting to Sepang by shuttle or car

Your transport choice also shapes where it makes sense to stay. A city hotel can work with a direct event bus, while a room near the airport still needs a workable connection to the circuit.

    MotoGP Sepang shuttle bus services

Rapid KL has announced special buses for 30 October to 1 November. Business Today reports the following fares from Rapid KL’s announcement. [8]

Departure point  One way  Return ticket
Pasar Seni Bus Hub  RM20  RM35
    KLCC bus stop  RM20  RM35
KLIA Terminal 2  RM12  Not stated in the report

For the KLIA Terminal 2 service, the report specifies departures from 7AM to 1PM at 30-minute intervals, with return services from the circuit between 4PM and 7PM. It also confirms free internal shuttles around the circuit. These timings should not automatically be applied to every departure point.

Rapid KL’s MotoGP bus service information identifies ticket sales at selected rail stations and the KLIA Terminal 2 transportation hub. A sales counter and a boarding point can be different places, so the journey depends on both details.

For example, a hotel near a rail station may help you reach Pasar Seni, but the rail fare and connection time are additional parts of the trip. The event bus ticket only covers the journey described on that ticket.

    Driving and toll preparation

Driving allows your group to share fuel, tolls and parking costs. The comparison with a bus fare depends on how many people are travelling and how far you need to drive.

Parking charges vary by category and location, according to the 2026 FAQ. Current prices and the approach to your entrance need confirming with Sepang.

For toll preparation, PayDirect links a Touch ‘n Go Card to TNG eWallet so charges at supported terminals on participating highways can come from the eWallet balance. That does not establish coverage for every toll on your chosen route.

Keeping track of the card balance remains relevant for travel outside supported locations. A reload to your TNG eWallet and a reload to the physical Touch ‘n Go card are different actions.

    Hotels near Sepang International Circuit

Sepang and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) area suit a weekend focused on racing. A Kuala Lumpur hotel gives you more to do between visits to the circuit.

Sepang and KLIA for a race-focused stay

Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA connects to Terminal 1 by a covered skybridge, with a complimentary 24-hour buggy service to and from the airport. For fans flying in, the appeal is staying by the airport without adding a journey into central Kuala Lumpur. However, you will need to arrange transport to Sepang circuit separately.

Tune Hotel KLIA-KLIA2 connects to Terminal 2 by a covered walkway, making it worth considering if you plan to use the announced KLIA Terminal 2 event buses. Breakfast starts at 4AM, useful before an early departure for the track.

Kuala Lumpur for racing and a city break

Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown is a short walk from Pasar Seni’s rail stations, putting you in the area for the Pasar Seni event bus. Chinatown’s restaurants and street vendors give your group somewhere to explore after returning from Sepang.

Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur offers a KLCC base with access to Suria KLCC and surrounding attractions. It suits visitors combining MotoGP with shopping or sightseeing, with KLCC also among the announced event-bus departure points. The exact boarding stop needs checking.

Race-weekend rates and availability depend on your dates. Hotel-to-circuit transfers need separate confirmation.

You can also explore hotel-booking options through GOtravel in TNG eWallet. Available properties depend on the travel partner, so the hotels above may not all appear.

    Compare accommodation with TNG eWallet

TNG eWallet’s travel offering includes hotel booking through travel partners. You can explore hotel-booking options through GOTravel while comparing the location and overall cost of your stay.

With TNG eWallet, you can compare the complete room total, occupancy, and cancellation terms.

A sample budget for one day at Sepang

Here is a simplified illustration for a Klang Valley visitor using an F Grandstand ticket and a return bus from Pasar Seni or KLCC. The admission price is for the event ticket even if the visitor attends for only one day.

    Expense  Amount
F Grandstand ticket at the displayed price  RM143.75
Return Rapid KL event bus  RM35
    Food and drinks allowance  RM50
    Contingency allowance  RM30
    Total  RM258.75

The RM50 food allowance and RM30 contingency are planning assumptions, not verified venue prices. The total excludes accommodation, merchandise, booking charges and travel to the bus departure point.

For a longer visit, transport and meals repeat each day, while the event ticket need not be purchased again for each covered day. Shared accommodation is another separate calculation: an assumed RM600 room bill split equally between three people adds RM200 each. That example is arithmetic, not a hotel quotation.

What to bring to MotoGP Sepang

A poncho, comfortable shoes, sun protection and suitable hearing protection can make a day at the circuit easier to manage. A charged phone and power bank support ticket access, navigation and payments, subject to current security requirements.

Sepang’s 2026 FAQ prohibits outside food and drinks, single-use plastic bottles, long umbrellas and portable chairs. It allows one reusable bottle or tumbler per person and lists water refill stations. Drones and glass containers are also prohibited.

Those rules make a difference to packing: food bought on the way may not be allowed through security. Medical or dietary needs are worth raising directly with the organiser so any exception is confirmed before arrival.

For eligible merchants, TNG eWallet’s QR scanner supports payments. Acceptance still depends on the individual merchant; but TNG eWallet makes payment easy for you without carrying it is not confirmed for every Sepang stall or parking operator.

If you plan to pay from your eWallet balance, DuitNow Transfer is one way to reload TNG eWallet from a bank app. A separate payment method provides another option where your intended method is unavailable.

Make your Sepang weekend work for you

The viewing area sets the racing experience, while your transport connection helps determine where to stay. Putting those decisions together gives you a clearer trip cost and a workable return journey.

Once your race dates and transport are settled, explore GOTravel hotel-booking options in TNG eWallet and compare a stay that fits your Sepang plans.
