TNG eWallet completes nationwide wage disbursement coverage with JTK Sarawak recognition
TNG Digital Sdn. Bhd. (“TNG Digital”), the operator of Malaysia’s leading digital financial services and lifestyle app, TNG eWallet, today announced that TNG eWallet has been recognised by Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Sarawak (“JTK Sarawak”) as an alternative salary payment method, marking the completion of TNG eWallet’s nationwide labour authority recognition across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
With nationwide coverage, employers anywhere across Malaysia can use TNG eWallet as an alternative digital channel to disburse wages, providing workers, particularly those who are unbanked or face barriers to traditional banking, with secure and convenient access to their earnings.
“As of today, more than half a million users nationwide already use TNG eWallet to receive their wages, recording more than RM5.7 billion in wages disbursed in 2026,” said Alan Ni, Chief Executive Officer of TNG Digital. “JTK Sarawak’s recognition marks an important milestone in expanding this access nationwide. It gives confidence to any employer in Malaysia that this is a safe, government recognised digital wage disbursement, while giving workers an established and practical way to receive and manage their earnings.”
TNG Digital was first recognised by Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Semenanjung Malaysia (“JTKSM”) in 2024 as an alternative wage payment method for unbanked workers, including blue-collar migrant workers via a DuitNow account. This was followed by recognition from Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Sabah (“JTK Sabah”) in December 2025. The latest recognition from JTK Sarawak completes TNG eWallet’s coverage in Malaysia.
Each verified TNG eWallet user is assigned a DuitNow account number, allowing employers to disburse wages directly from any bank in Malaysia into their workers’ TNG eWallet accounts. This provides employers with a secure and seamless alternative for wage payments, while giving workers immediate access to their earnings.
Completing nationwide coverage strengthens TNG Digital’s ability to support employers while extending digital financial access to workers who may otherwise rely on cash or face barriers to traditional banking. Beyond receiving their wages, workers can use TNG eWallet for everyday payments, transfers, cash withdrawals and remittances within the same digital ecosystem.
