August was a big month for us at TNG eWallet. We marched in the Merdeka parade, launched a referral programme for the Visa Travel Card, kicked off a MAMA 2026 campaign, and completed our nationwide salary payment coverage. Here is a look back at the highlights.

    Merdeka with purpose

Our team of 32 arrived well before sunrise, parade float in tow. The streets were already filling up, the rakyat waving Jalur Gemilang, kids on shoulders, everyone finding their spot. There is something about standing in the early morning air, waiting for your turn to march alongside Malaysians from every walk of life, that captures the spirit of Merdeka.

For a homegrown brand, Sambutan Hari Kebangsaan is always a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together. This year, we were proud to return and be part of the celebration once again.

    Refer a friend, earn RM8

If you already use the Visa Travel Card, you know the benefits. Now there is a reason to share those benefits with the people around you.

For every successful referral, you earn RM8 credited to your TNG eWallet. There is no cap on how many people you can refer, so the more friends and family you bring on board, the more you earn. On their end, your friend gets RM5 cashback when they purchase their card.

If you’d like to know more about the referral programme, check out the details right here.

TNG eWallet salary payments, now nationwide

TNG eWallet is now recognised by Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Sarawak (JTK Sarawak) as an alternative salary payment method. This is the third and final labour authority recognition needed to complete our nationwide coverage across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.

The journey started in 2024, when Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Semenanjung Malaysia (JTKSM) first recognised TNG eWallet as an alternative wage payment method for unbanked workers, including blue-collar migrant workers via a DuitNow account. That was followed by recognition from Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Sabah in December 2025. With JTK Sarawak now on board, employers anywhere in Malaysia can use TNG eWallet to disburse wages.

The numbers speak to the scale of this. More than half a million users nationwide already receive their wages through TNG eWallet, with over RM5.7 billion in wages disbursed so far in 2026.

Each verified TNG eWallet user is assigned a DuitNow account number, so employers can transfer wages directly from any bank in Malaysia. Workers get immediate access to their earnings and can use TNG eWallet for everyday payments, transfers, cash withdrawals and remittances, all within the same app.

    What is next

From marching in the Merdeka parade to expanding salary payments nationwide, we continued to show up for Malaysians in ways that matter. If you have not explored what the Visa Travel Card can do yet, now is a good time to start. There are rewards to earn, a trip to Japan to chase, and plenty more coming this September.
