TNG Digital Sdn Bhd has partnered Lazada Malaysia, allowing payment via its Touch ‘n Go eWallet on the e-commerce platform.
TNG Digital CEO Ignatius Ong said the collaboration will drive Malaysia’s cashless agenda forward as it offers a seamless and secure payment method to online shoppers.
“The online marketplace in Malaysia is home to 16.5 million online shoppers. We know that Malaysians are fans of ‘value deals’, we have seen an overwhelming response to our promotions, such as RM2.50 for bubble teas and RM1 for burgers and more.
“It is through these campaigns that we can encourage and increase the everyday usage among Malaysians and spur them towards converting to a digital lifestyle,” he said at the launch in Kuala Lumpur (KL) yesterday.
The Touch ‘n Go eWallet option will be available across Lazada Malaysia website and app for users to enjoy faster and more rewarding shopping experience.
Upon checkout, users can select the Touch ‘n Go eWallet as the payment of choice to complete the transaction. Meanwhile, Lazada Malaysia chief business officer Kevin Lee said the collaboration allows the Touch ‘n Go eWallet to go beyond the current payment point coverage, while also tapping into Lazada Malaysia’s shoppers’ database.
“As the first local e-commerce platform to collaborate with TNG Digital, we are encouraged by the growing number of our shoppers opting for digital payment methods.
“We observe that Malaysians are increasingly unafraid to embrace the cashless digital lifestyle solutions and are demanding more rewards and values out of their purchases,” he said.
Lee said the timing of this collaboration is perfect as it coincides with the seventh “11.11” shopping festival — a concept which the company pioneered in South-East Asia in 2012.
“We hope this will continue to drive retail innovation across all six markets of Lazada,” he said.
The launch showcased the hassle-free shopping experience with the Touch ‘n Go eWallet through an immersive bricks-to-clicks pop-up store.
The physical shopping structure was made possible with the support of other notable brands, namely L’Oreal Paris, Maybelline, Garnier, NYX Professional Makeup, Nestle and Unilever, who presented their products for purchase.
On top of that, users can receive a discount worth RM5 via the Lazada app with a minimum purchase of RM50 using Touch ‘n Go eWallet from Oct 29-31.
