Trying to make sense of your BUDI MADANI RON95 subsidy? Worried about pumping too much or too little? Need to help your parents “do the math”? Here’s a clear guide to help you (and your family), understand how BUDI95 all works, and how TNG eWallet helps you track it effortlessly.
Why use BUDI95 in TNG eWallet
With BUDI95 in TNG eWallet, you can refuel at all participating petrol stations across Malaysia, no need to switch between apps.
Because your TNG eWallet account is already verified (eKYC) and linked to your phone, you don’t need to show your physical MyKad, it’s automatically secure and tied to your identity.
And if you’re refuelling at PETRONAS, you can still enjoy your BUDI95 subsidy seamlessly through SETEL for extra convenience.
These make BUDI95 in TNG eWallet the easiest way to manage and enjoy your monthly fuel subsidy, safely, securely, and everywhere you drive.
What is the BUDI MADANI RON95 subsidy?
BUDI MADANI RON95 or BUDI95 is a fuel subsidy in Malaysia that allows you to buy up to 200 litres of RON95 at a subsidised price each month. It’s designed to ensure the lower price reaches the right people, reduce misuse, and support long-term financial sustainability
Who is eligible for BUDI MADANI RON95?
Malaysian citizens aged 16 and older with a valid car or motorcycle license are eligible for BUDI MADANI RON95 subsidy. TNG eWallet users can check their status instantly—just look for the BUDI95 icon on your home screen or tap “More” and search for it manually from the search bar above your eWallet balance.
If it shows that you aren’t eligible for the fuel subsidy, you can tap on the ‘Call BUDI95 careline’ button to directly contact the official call centre at 1300 88 9595. Alternatively, you can also check your eligibility via the official BUDI MADANI website. Click on ‘Check Individual Eligibility’, key in your MyKad number, and submit to view the results.
For e-hailing drivers, such as those with Grab, an enhanced monthly quota of up to 800 litres is available for those recording over 5,000km in travel distance. To qualify for this higher allocation, drivers must possess a valid Malaysian IC, a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) license, and an E-hailing Vehicle Permit (EVP).
Once the e-hailing operator submits the monthly mileage data to the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) and the Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board (LPKP) in Sabah and Sarawak for verification, the allocation will automatically be disbursed.
Who isn’t eligible for BUDI MADANI RON95?
Non-citizens and those driving foreign-plated cars are not eligible for the BUDI MADANI RON95 subsidy allocation. Furthermore, foreign vehicles must refuel with RON97 only and are not allowed to pump RON95.
For Malaysians, eligibility is also restricted if your vehicle is registered under a business or corporate name. Plus, if your driving license has been expired for more than 3 years, it is legally considered revoked, and you will be unable to access the subsidy until your driving status is restored.
How the BUDI MADANI RON95 subsidy is calculated
Here’s how your monthly subsidy value is determined.
| Item | Price/Value |
| Regular pump/market price | RM3.87/L |
| Subsidised price for RON95 subsidy | RM1.99/L |
| Government subsidy per litre | RM3.87 – RM1.99 = RM1.88/L |
| Monthly allocation | 200L per person per month |
| Monthly subsidy value | RM1.88 x RM200 litre = RM376 |
* Pump price and subsidised price are correct as of 1 April 2026.

Note: This is only applicable for transactions made via BUDI95 in your TNG eWallet. If you use other payment methods, you may see “You have not bought any fuel yet” or that it’s not reflected here. Don’t worry, you can see the full transaction history on www.budimadani.gov.my |
Example: Pumping RM50 of fuel
Because your monthly BUDI95 quota is tracked by litres, not ringgit spent, here’s how a RM50 refuel affects your balance:
| Item | Calculation |
| Subsidised litres used |
|
| Subsidy value used from your monthly allocation | 25.1L × RM1.88 = RM47.20 |
| Remaining balance after this transaction |
200L − 25.1L = 174.9L
RM376 − RM47.20 = RM328.80
|
What happens if you finish your BUDI95 balance?
Once you’ve reached your 200-litre quota (or the full RM376 subsidy) for the month, you can still refuel as usual, but at the normal pump/market price of RM3.87/L instead of the subsidised RM1.99/L. Your quota resets on the 1st of every month, so the subsidised quota will be available again then.
