Marliana Othman

Marliana Othman is Director of Compliance & Governance at TNG Digital, where she leads regulatory compliance, integrity, compliance governance, and compliance risk advisory across the company’s digital payments business. She works closely with the Board of Directors and senior leadership to navigate evolving regulatory expectations, strengthen internal controls, and ensure the organisation operates with integrity, accountability and resilience in a fast-evolving fintech environment.

 

Appointed in July 2023, Marliana brings over 20 years of experience across banking, card schemes, multinational credit organisation, fintech, and digital payments. From November 2024, her remit expanded and the function was renamed Compliance & Governance, reflecting a broader focus on governance and control as the business scales. In her role, she oversees regulatory affairs, compliance frameworks, and key governance and control structures, while serves as the principal point of engagement with regulators across the TNG eWallet ecosystem.

 

Marliana is known for her hands-on approach and sound practical judgement. Her expertise spans enterprise risk management (ERM), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), anti-bribery and corruption (ABAC), data protection, and digital payments governance. Prior to TNG Digital, she held senior leadership roles at Boost Holdings, Axiata Digital, AEON Credit Service, Maybank, Bank Simpanan Nasional, and American Express, leading group-wide initiatives in regulatory readiness, risk governance, crisis management, and compliance within high-growth and regulated environments.

 

In addition to her executive role, Marliana serves as a Board Director of TNG Digital Remittance, contributing her regulatory insight to support strong governance and effective risk oversight.

 

She holds a Bachelor of Finance with Honours and a Diploma in Banking from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She is also a certified compliance professional under the International Compliance Association (ICA), with additional credentials in business continuity planning.
